songs we love: DD Island – Future Days

To be truly honest, I’ve never been a big fan of fuzz. And Future Days by DD Island has a lot of it. But the NYC songwriter works with it so well – it has this weird, sort of 60s hippie atmosphere that makes me wanna go on a road trip so bad.

The guitars here are very entertaining – those short solos in the middle and at the end are just fantastic, they don’t feel ostentatious or anything, they have this pleasant, humble vibe, just like the whole track. And the one thing I haven’t praised yet, but maybe the most important one – vocal. Great production, it’s buried under the instrumentation, but not completely, you can still hear the melodies and lyrics well and the melodies are supercatchy.
