Haven’t heard such a warm, heartfelt tune for a long time! Open Outside by The Brazen Youth is that type of music that really pumps life and energy into your veins. It’s sort of repetitive, but in the best way possible, reminds me of my favorite Damien Jurado tracks where the vocal melody is just flowing like a stream, but discreetly evolving at the same time. This track absolutely got me at 0:50, such a nice break is very hard to find. To sum it up, I really love everything about this track, the production is very natural and pleasant to your ear, the vocals are emotional (but not overly) and the video is nicely nostalgic.
The Brazen Youth were formed by Nicholas Lussier and Charles Dahlke in Lyme, Connecticut. Later they added Micah Rubin into the band’s lineup.
