Leon in the Wind was one of the first bands that I’ve recommended here. And the reason is obvious: while they play a genre that I don’t find that exciting anymore (well, I still do, but there are so many indie bands out there, so many…) , they just do it really well and simply better than most of their peers.
And as I’d already mentioned in the first article about them, I’ve been a huge Built to Spill fan for a long time (saw them once live on their EU tour some while ago) and Leon in the Wind really reminds me of their 90s/early 00s work: particularly of those acoustic and more quiet tunes like Fling, The Weather and Twin Falls. It’s just has this melancholic summer vibe that is truly pleasant to listen to.
