Songs we love: Lizzie Esau – The Enemy

Lizzie Esau is an English singer-songwriter from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, her inspiration comes from various artists like Radiohead, Wolf Alice and Beabadoobee, but if I had to choose one name that I hear in her music, it would be my favorite American musician Mackenzie Scott aka Torres. Esau isn’t afraid of heavy guitars, distortion and energetic, wild choruses – but at the same time the song remains inspired by genres like dream/alternative pop with its catchy vocal melodies. Esau has a lot of charisma and could easily fit into a category with musicians like Soccer Mommy, Phoebe Bridgers and Mitski. I’m looking forward to hearing more!
