There’s Talk is an Oakland-based electronic dream pop band fronted by multi-instrumentalist Olivia Lee. Their sound is very unique and full of melancholy. It has a strong, sophisticated production that feels very modern (think of bands like Beach House). Though the production and the whole instrumentation is brilliant, I think the vocals are the most beautiful thing in this song for me – I would easily put Lee’s voice is in the same category like Angel Olsen, Phoebe Bridgers and Victoria Legrand… on the other hand this isn’t that much about the vocal melodies as it is about the overall atmosphere and vibe that feels pretty cinematic. It even reminds me of Mulholland Dr. movie by David Lynch (and also of the time when I got lost on this street a few years ago – this would’ve been an ideal soundtrack for my odyssey)
