Half of a rainbow is the art pop project of Berlin musician Johannes Harder. One of his influences is an American lo-fi/rock legend Guided by Voices and I must say I’m not that surprised: Harder’s new single poison in e major has quite a lot similarities to gbv’s famous album Bee Thousand from 1994. Catchy pop melodies blended with experimental and slightly weird moments, warm analogue production (especially the acoustic guitar has really beautiful sound) and emotive vocals.
Harder has only released 3 tracks so far but I’m already very curious about the whole record. I feel it might be exactly my cup of tea.
