If you don’t know what Cheveux Des Riches means, this song of the same name by a German band Random Dudes will explain it to you. “The hair style Cheveux Des Riches can be described as the following: hair gelled or combed backwards, curly in the back, grey or white in colour and from time to time a receding hairline might occur, which is absolutely tolerated because it’s a sign of wisdom and experience.” So yes, the whole track/album celebrates this type of hairstyle… I like weird music and this is definitely nicely strange!
Musically, this lo-fi track oscillates somewhere between Mac DeMarco’s earlier stuff and the crazier pieces from Guided by Voices. Somehow I feel I would enjoy this track even more if I heard it live: I can imagine lying in the grass at a small summer festival, getting carried away by the nonchalant and carefree atmosphere of this song.
