Lifts are a 5-piece alternative/art-rock/post-punk band from Dublin, Ireland.

The average length of the songs that I recommend here is usually around 2 to 3 minutes. I can’t deny that I grew up on artists like Guided by Voices and Minutemen with unusually short songs. So the new single Rotten Apples by Lifts is kind of an exception on this blog since it has 5 minutes, but the length here is absolutely justifiable. The song develops excellently: starting with slow, melancholic intro, collecting more sounds along the way and turning into an emotional bomb that will send shivers down your spine.
