Winsome is an indie rock trio based out of Northern California. Joey Oliveira is the vocalist and plays guitar, Evan Santa Elena on bass, and Aaron Inacio on the drums.
Novice is their latest single and the second single they released in 2022. I must admit I really like their raw sound/approach. All my life I’ve been into local underground scenes (wherever I was) where friendship and principles are more important than pure ambition (I mean, I don’t have anything against ambitious bands, I just prefer when they are not overly ambitious I guess:).
When listening to Novice, I got the nicest vibes from the band. They just seem like really cool people having fun and thanks to that their music is so relaxed and carefree… I believe their shows must be an extremely pleasant experience as well. But it’s not only about the vibe, there are also lot of inventive ideas in this track that makes it so great. Highly recommended!
