Songs we love: Elephant Path – Heartbreaker

Elephant Path was created in 2018 by two founders, Devin and Jeffrey. After touring locally for a few years and with roots in the studio, EP became a solo studio-based project in 2020 to pursue the creation of a catalog of records.

The duo is inspired by artists like Cass McCombs, Andy Shauf, Wilco and Elliott Smith.

What impressed me at first was the production of Heartbreaker, which has kinda psychedelic, 60s feeling, but doesn’t feel obsolete. To be honest, I’m usually not the biggest fan of this style, where guitars are sort of inspired by 70s rock… However, for some reason, this song really caught my attenton. Is it that crazy heat outside? Maybe, but rather the overall vibe of the song, it is full of modesty and simply makes you feel good. If I ever attended a festival taking place in the desert, I hope this band would play there, it would be a perfect combination!
