Songs we love: Norman Lake – Feel

“Though a songwriter since the day I picked up guitar, my real journey as an artist started 5 years ago when I spent ten days on psychiatric hold in a mental hospital. Drugs and mental illness had consumed my life, and every emotion seemed like a tidal wave I couldn’t control. It was a long road to become sober and begin healing, but in that struggle I discovered my voice as an artist,” says Norman Lake about his musical journey.

Feel is a captivating indie track that feels a bit like an emotional rollercoaster. I like how the song meanders like a river: every few seconds there is a different mood and energy. I usually appreciate more monotonous compositions, but here it is an amazing showcase of music ideas. Especially the subtle piano gives this track a real charm. Beautiful!
