Plastic Cowboys are an indie rock band based in Dublin, who formed in 2019. Their ever evolving sound has featured elements of 70s punk rock, grunge, indie rock and garage rock.
I must admit that I have a soft spot for Irish bands. However, Plastic Cowboys sound to me like a mix of US and Irish band. They remind me a lot of early Portugal. The Man, especially their 2011 album “In the Mountain, In the Cloud”, which was still nicely psychedelic and not so pop as their future efforts.
I like that Mundane Ecstasy is both melodic/catchy and raw, it could simply be a rock anthem, but it remains modest.
