Songs we love: August Edition I

Unfortunately, due to covid-19 complications, I have not been able to write many new articles in past weeks:( So these ones will be a bit shorter than usual… then I will take a break for about a month and I will come back at the end of September!:)

EZRA GLATT – MOVING LIGHT

๐Ÿงก just wow, Ezra Glatt is a supertalented musician, his guitar playing on this is stunning and even without the vocals this would be a fantastic song, but…

๐Ÿ’š …but the vocals are probably the best thing on this track. I mean, this sounds a lot like Sufjan Stevens, A LOT. But what the hell, this has the same quality like Carrie & Lowell, which is a fantastic album…

๐Ÿ’™ I love the retro video and also how short the song is. 90 seconds is always enough!

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

SPIRIT PURE – EASY

๐Ÿงก the production on this is truly fantastic, I especially appreciate the vocal that has very pleasant reverb on it…

๐Ÿ’š the chorus is supercatchy (but at the same time not annoying at all!). It’s not easy to come up with such a smart melody…

๐Ÿ’™ I usually prefer more experimental/weird type of sounds, but somehow this has a perfect summer vibe (maybe it’s that nice cover?) and I just love listening to this on repeat…

Rating: 4 out of 5.

STEVIE ZITA – GHOSTBUSTER

๐Ÿงก Stevie Zita seems to me like a true bedroom pop king, everything he touches has really great quality. His songwriting is so natural!

๐Ÿ’š the melodies on this track, especially the chorus, is just so entertaining. Not many indie pop artists has such good ear for melodies like Zita…

๐Ÿ’™ I just love those playful synths at the end of the track

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
