Songs we love: August Edition II

Unfortunately, due to covid-19 complications, I have not been able to write many new articles in past weeks:( So these ones will be a bit shorter than usual… then I will take a break for about a month and I will come back at the end of September!:)

THE MELLONS – HELLO, SUN

🧑 this track has a fantastic 60s vibe, I usually prefer music that sounds a bit more modern to me, but maybe because the summer is so hot this year, I enjoyed listening to this song very much. It feels sunny, but melancholic at the same time…

πŸ’š the production feels very natural, I believe that The Mellons must sound fantastic live as well!

πŸ’™ the chorus is kinda beatlesque (Sgt. Pepper era), but they also manage to sound pretty authentic…

Rating: 4 out of 5.

STILLBLUE – STILL LIFE

🧑 the instrumentation on this track is simply beautiful, the production is neat, smooth and pleasant. Nothing too overly clean and polished, just how I like it…

πŸ’š the vocal is emotive and the melodies are great as well

πŸ’™ I loved the outro (2.00>) the most

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

SMALL TOWN SCI-FI – PSYCHO

🧑 this is exactly that type of bedroom lo-fi that I love, raw production, simple instrumentation, focus on melodies…

πŸ’š …the melodies here are very catchy, I also like those little weird entertaining curls that the singer – Jonathan Suarez – can do with his voice

πŸ’™ one of the best album covers I’ve seen in a while!

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
