Unfortunately, due to covid-19 complications, I have not been able to write many new articles in past weeks:( So these ones will be a bit shorter than usual… then I will take a break for about a month and I will come back at the end of September!:)

PAPER LADY – WINTER COMES

It’s kinda hard for me to describe Paper Lady‘s music. It’s exactly that type of band that I would love to see live if they were from my city. Music that is smooth and chill, but at the same time full of energy, especially live I suppose. The vocal here is very emotive and brings me a lot of nostalgia, the melodies remind me of my favorite Soccer Mommy’s tracks… yeah it’s such a pleasure to listen to this beautiful track.

GARDEN PARTY – RUGBY CLUB

I like music that is sort of weird, I grew up listening to guided by voices and Syd Barrett so that’s probably why… Rugby Club by Garden Party isn’t particulary a strange track, but the production has this pleasant experimental and lo-fi vibe. When I listened to this track for the first time, I was convinced Damien Jurado is singing on this… the voice is so similar! Is this Jurado’s side project? Who knows… Anyway, the chorus on is track (0:50 – the first one and then 1:50) is absolutely stunning, I was speechless, so beautiful and emotive. Five stars.

STEVIE ZITA – FADEAWAY

Another bedroom pop gem by Stevie Zita. I mean, how can someone come up with such strong tunes? That’s a mystery for me, Zita’s tracks have delicate production, fantastic ,supercatchy melodies and nice nostalgic retro vibe. Already looking forward to more.

FIG – BING BONG LOVE SONG

I usually focus on more experimental type of indie music but sometimes I can’t help it and I just must appreciate how talented someone is in this genre, even though it’s not that type of music that I’m mostly looking for… FIG is a Malaysian indie pop artists based in New York and I absolutely fell in love with her Bing Bong Love Song track. I don’t even have to write about how catchy this is, that’s apparent after first few seconds… If FIG isn’t huge in the near future, I would be pretty disappointed, she absolutely deserves it. And also I love how confident she seems in this video!
