Glassmanet is a psychedelic dream pop project run by an audio/visual artist from Norway.
I have to admit that the first thing that immediately caught my eye about this (micro)-album was the length of the songs. I’ve always had a soft spot for extremely short tracks and on Glassplanet, we get 8 songs/10 minutes. Fantastic! But I also think that it’s very hard to create a good album that is this short…
Fortunately, after just a few seconds, I knew this would be a good album… (the transition between first two tracks is just amazing!)… and sure it is, actually it’s great.
The highlights of this micro-album are tracks 4 and 5 – Pale Blue and Mesmerizing Mess, especially the latter is infectiously catchy and reminds me of the best tracks by Cocteau Twins. But it’s really difficult to pinpoint just one or two songs, there’s just no weak spot on this album. And the visual is impressive as well and fits the music perfectly.
