Half of a rainbow is the art pop project of Berlin musician Johannes Harder. We already covered his great poison in e major track last year and his new song no moral after pain is similarly good!
I just really love that black & white, lo-fi atmosphere. Harder’s ability to come up with these emotional, pleasant tracks is truly fascinating. The analogue production is important as well, the sound is just beautiful and even without the vocals the song would work brilliantly thanks to the dreamy instrumentation (that piano sound reminds me of Fog Lake’s music a lot). But the vocals are probably my most favorite thing on this track, kinda sad, even a bit resigned… just how I like it. Harder definitely has something that some call a “soul”.
