I’ve always had a big weakness for Canadian artists. It used to be bands like The Weakerthans and The Rural Alberta Advantage that I liked as a teen very much, I also love singer-songwriter like Andy Shauf… Canadian music scene always felt very rich to me. And Livers might be another Canadian gem that I’ve just found!
Honestly I haven’t found much information about him – even though he’s got hiw own website, the only thing I know is that he’s from Ontario and his name is Danny:) But that doesn’t matter I think!
Soon is a relatively low-key track. You could say that the song doesn’t revolve around any big and catchy musical ideas, but it’s the extremely pleasant vibe that makes the song so interesting. The vocals are buried in reverb and everything has a very nostalgic, pleasant but also slightly sad vibe.
My favorite part is the chorus: ethereal vocal melody, playful synth… The peak of the song is at the end, though, when the chorus repeats and increases in intensity. Beautiful!
