REVIEW: WILLIAM STULTS – GOLDEN IS BLUE

William Stults is an American singer-songwriter who recently released a poignant single Golden is blue dedicated to his best friend who sadly passed away.

Golden is blue immediately captivated me with its opening notes, reminiscent of my favorite album, “Shallow Grave,” by the Swedish singer-songwriter The Tallest Man on Earth. The excellent guitar work and raw, natural sound evoke a similar atmosphere.

Stults’s vocal performance is another standout aspect of this track. His whispery and veiled singing style feels incredibly authentic and believable, complemented by a very pleasant vocal tone.

The arrangement of Golden is blue is simple, yet its true strength lies in the evocative atmosphere it creates. It’s one of the best tracks in this genre I’ve heard this year.
