We recently had the pleasure of interviewing the British band Soot Sprite, who are now releasing a new track in collaboration with Muttering.
Soot Sprite draws inspiration from artists like Alvvays, Soccer Mommy, Hovvdy, and Japanese Breakfast. However, their new song brings a fresh and distinct vibe. It’s more emotional, raw…
The track has several standout moments that have become favorites of mine. Just 10 seconds in, we hear the energetic vocals of Muttering’s lead singer (if I’m not mistaken!), setting the tone for what’s to come. Then, less than a minute later, Elise Cook’s voice emerges—easily one of the most captivating vocals I’ve heard in recent memory.
As the song progresses, the second half introduces a beautifully crafted instrumental section. It’s understated yet atmospheric, avoiding flashy guitar solos in favor of a more nuanced, immersive soundscape that complements the earlier intensity.
Overall, this is a fantastic track, it’s a collaboration that feels both inspired and organic.
