MOTEL VOID: You’ve just released your new single, Feels Like A Start. Can you share what the writing and recording process was like?

TUSHAR: I wrote this track a few years back, but I never finished the chorus. It wasn’t until last year while I was travelling through Central America that I was inspired to complete ‘Feels Like A Start’. I had the most amazing experience scuba diving in the Caribbean Sea with my partner. This is what sparked the chorus line “I want to jump in with you”.

When I came back to Australia, I recorded the song with my producers, Mario and Benny who brought ‘Feels Like A Start’ to life. I’m so glad to have it out in the world!

MOTEL VOID: You’re originally from Australia—could you tell us which city you’re based in? Do you have any favorite venues there, and are there any local artists you’d recommend checking out?

TUSHAR: I was based in Adelaide my whole life. I have recently moved to Melbourne to pursue a career in music! Local Adelaide artists that I’m loving right now are: Puree, The Tullamarines, Bromham and Aleksiah.

MOTEL VOID: Last year, you released your debut EP, Arthur and Sadie. How did you feel about the reception it received?

TUSHAR: I was amazed by how many people listened to the EP! It gave me the confidence to keep on releasing content. I can’t wait to release my sophomore EP, coming out this year!

MOTEL VOID: Who is your biggest inspiration right now?

TUSHAR: My biggest inspiration right now is Arlo Parks. While our genres are different, you must appreciate how good Arlo’s songwriting skills are. An amazing poet with vocals of a fallen angel.

MOTEL VOID: What are your plans for the rest of the year? Is there a tour in the works?

TUSHAR: I will be touring in Australia:
