About a year ago, we interviewed the American musician Bailey Smith, who goes by the name Sentir. Now, he’s back with a new single titled Hold Me.
Recently, I watched Alexander Payne’s film The Holdovers, and for some reason, this new track evokes similar emotions in me—warmth, comfort, nostalgia, and a touch of sadness—all intertwined.
The production on Hold Me is stellar, carrying that same underlying warmth. The vocals are wrapped in reverb, but in just the right way—not overpowering, but nicely fitting. The vocal melody isn’t intrusive; it’s pleasing and understated. The choruses, on the other hand, bring a bit more energy, pulling the listener out of a seemingly dreamlike lethargy.
