REVIEW: SINCE TORINO – TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT SONG

At the beginning of the year, I interviewed the Sheffield-based band Since Torino, who had just released two fantastic tracks, Snow and Everything Else.

Even back then, they hinted at the release of a new EP, which is now, I suppose, just around the corner (with two singles out)

The track opens with gentle electronics and drums that immediately bring to mind the influence of their favorites, The National.

After a while, a whispery vocal enters — perfectly matched to the mood. It’s quiet yet emotional, delivered in a way that feels both intimate and raw.

At first, the song might appear monotonous, but just when you think it might stagnate, a synth motif emerges again, keeping the song captivating.

To me, this feels like perfect music for a day like today — snow falling, the sun shining, and a long train journey ahead. It’s the kind of track that pairs perfectly with the scenery rushing past your window.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
