I haven’t covered much French music on this blog yet, and that’s a real shame – because Tapeworms from France are truly fantastic.
The band originally started as a shoegaze revival trio, but over time, they’ve expanded their sound, blending elements of electronica, art pop, and indie pop. Their influences range from the French electronic scene to Japanese pop, creating a genre-defying mix that feels both fresh and exciting.
Their new track Pitch Pop is a perfect example of this eclectic approach. It’s an irresistibly fun fusion of styles, boasting brilliant production, infectious melodies, and a danceable groove. Despite its immediate catchiness, the song never feels shallow or one-dimensional – it’s layered, atmospheric, and engaging. The shimmering synths, dynamic rhythms, and dreamy vocals make for a listening experience that’s both exhilarating and immersive.
Right now, Tapeworms are gearing up for an extensive tour across Germany, Scandinavia, and the UK. If you get the chance to see them live, don’t miss out.
