Midwest-born artist Niko Francis performs under the name Air Mail and has recently emerged as one of the most exciting new discoveries, largely thanks to the outstanding single Wide Awake (a.m.). He now follows it up with Moss Song – a feel-good summer track that seems tailor-made for scenes of amusement rides, piers, car drives, surfing, late-night rides through the countryside, and wind turbines. All of these appear in the beautifully shot music video, which perfectly captures the song’s atmosphere.

With its lethargic, slacker-like mood, the track reminds me of something between MJ Lenderman and Kurt Vile. Especially in the chorus (around 1:10), the song carries a strong sense of nostalgia paired with a gently melancholic vibe… I’m really looking forward to hearing what future releases this project will bring!
