I love songs that ground you from the very first second, and that’s exactly the case with Helm by No Floor, a post-shoegaze quartet from Seattle, Washington.
The track opens with a powerful, heavy riff that, despite its raw intensity, carries a strong sense of melody. It later transitions into much calmer waters, aided by the silky vocals woven into the screaming guitars. What I loved the most was the outro, where the repetitive vocals perfectly blend with the energetic surge of guitars.
No Floor debuted three years ago, and their biggest release so far is the EP How to Drown from 2024. But if Helm is any indication of what’s to come, we’re in for something really exciting — this is a very promising name in the shoegaze scene, and one we highly recommend keeping an eye on!
