BEST NEW TRACKS: KEELEY – BIG BROWN EYES

The Irish shoegaze band KEELEY, fronted by singer, guitarist and songwriter Keeley Moss, has just released a new album titled Girl On the Edge of the World. From the record, we’re highlighting the excellent single Big Brown Eyes. The track also features guest vocals from the legendary Miki Berenyi of Lush. The band currently performs as a trio, with Moss joined by Lukey Foxtrot on bass and former Morrissey drummer Andrew Paresi.

The song has a beautifully nostalgic atmosphere that instantly reminded me of dreamy ’90s tracks by one of my favorite bands, the Smashing Pumpkins – such as By Starlight, Daydream, or Spaceboy. The beautifully hazy retro video is also worth mentioning, with its slow-motion shots and captivating vintage patina.

If you like melodic, hazy, evocative and inspiring dreamy music, this is exactly for you – without a doubt, one of the best shoegaze releases of the year!
