Winter may already be behind us, but this beautiful song by the Australian project SOVER brings a hint of it back. It’s a stunning slowcore piece from an artist I hadn’t come across before, and it immediately caught my attention. Instrumentally, it slightly recalls my favorite British songwriter Rapta, though here the string arrangements play an even more prominent role, adding depth and emotional weight.
Vocally, the track is built on a delicate interplay between male and female voices, blending together into a truly captivating, melancholic landscape. Paired with subtle field recordings and an array of shimmering, it creates something that feels intimate, immersive, and quietly unique.
