I wasn’t able to find much about Tory Silver online, but their track Microwave is a real gem. It’s one of those songs where, after checking the streaming platforms, I expected to see completely different — much higher — numbers. Not that they’re outsiders, but the way their music brings everything together — the instrumentation, the songwriting, the vocals — feels like something that should have taken off a long time ago.

There’s a strong Frankie Cosmos vibe running through it. Hopefully this single will be the one that pushes them further, because it’s genuinely incredibly well made. I really enjoyed the combination of heavy guitars and that laid-back, slacker atmosphere — it all comes together in a way that feels both effortless and carefully crafted at the same time.
