BEST NEW TRACKS: VERY BUSY PEOPLE – ORDINARY NIGHT

Very Busy People were formed in Austin, Texas, in 2017, and since then the indie collective has continued to evolve, blending elements of jazz, psychedelic, dance, and folk into their sound.

I have to admit that although the band has been around for nearly a decade, this is my first encounter with their music. From the very first notes, I was immediately drawn in by a kind of early Mac DeMarco slacker vibe. I really appreciate the production – it feels natural, without any trace of intrusive or overworked post-production. On the contrary, it sounds as if it were recorded casually in the next room, which gives it an intimate and authentic atmosphere. I genuinely love the overall sound.

What also stands out is the fantastic vocal performance – strong and full-bodied, yet carrying a certain vulnerability and gentle melancholy. It’s melodic and emotionally resonant.

The song flows beautifully and effortlessly, creating a very pleasant and immersive listening experience.
