Following their acclaimed debut Howling at a Concrete Moon – a coming-of-age record that captured the disaffection of youth in austerity-era Britain – Pynch returned last autumn with Beautiful Noise.
The album was produced by frontman Spencer Enock in the band’s home studio, with drums recorded by Stereolab’s Andy Ramsay at Press Play Studios. The production is one of the first things you notice when listening to Revolve Around You – it feels clean, warm, and beautifully balanced, yet it retains that essential DIY spirit that gives the track its strong sense of authenticity.
Overall, the song leans into a hazy, nostalgic atmosphere, but its true highlights are the energetic, irresistibly catchy choruses. The beat drives forward with confidence as a soaring melody rolls in on top, creating an infectious rush of momentum. The track then closes with a beautifully understated, ambient-leaning lo-fi outro.
This track feels like a serious contender for a summer anthem!
