sadboi simon is a French music producer and composer we’ve already featured here. He naturally moves between bedroom pop, indie rock, and lo-fi aesthetics, while maintaining an intimate signature sound.
His new single Nothing to Offer immediately reminded me of my all-time favorite, Damien Jurado. The opening carries a similar sense of depth and atmospheric richness. Once the vocals come in, though, the song retreats into a more minimalist space, where an emotive voice takes center stage alongside subtly layered production. And then comes the disarming, almost “Jurado-esque” chorus – a moment that gently opens the track up and delivers a powerful emotional release.
