Stargirl is sort of a mysterious music project from Japan. They seem to be heavily influenced by US/UK dream pop and shoegaze bands from 90s and 00s, but at the same time they have their own unique sound – you won’t find many artists that sound like them. They’ve only released a bunch of singles so far (mostly on EU labels Z Tapes, Bughead Records and Ultra Vague) but they’ve been recording a lot recently so we can expect new tracks pretty soon.
Starman is quite a simple dream pop song, with authentic, natural production and a melodic, repetitive approach to vocals. There are not many music ideas happening in this track, but it all just flows so well and it sounds very pleasant and full. Looking forward to their next singles!
