REVIEW: APRIL JUNE – CARRY YOU ON MY BROKEN WINGS

We had the pleasure of interviewing April June this past spring. The UK-born, Madrid-based musician had just released her excellent single Starstruck, and we discussed (e.g.) her success on Spotify, where her tracks reach tens of millions of streams.

Her latest release, Carry You on My Broken Wings, continues to showcase her talent. This new song draws heavy inspiration from her favorite artist, Lana Del Rey. It’s as if Lana del Rey ventured into the realm of bedroom pop, creating an enchanting and unique combination.

In Carry You on My Broken Wings, April June once again demonstrates her strengths in crafting catchy melodies and evoking a vibrant, summery atmosphere. The track beautifully blends her signature style with a fresh twist, making it perfect for lazy summer days or late-night drives. It’s the kind of song that i can easily imagine being featured in one of my beloved indie films, like “I Saw the TV Glow.”

Given the success of her previous singles, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this new track also takes off and becomes a fan favorite.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
