BEST NEW TRACKS: BLEARY – SUGAR SPLINT

One of my favorite tracks in recent weeks is without a doubt sugar splint by Bleary. It opens with a riff that leans toward pop-punk with a subtle R.E.M.-esque shimmer, setting an immediate sense of momentum. The vocals ease in gradually, and then the bass, synths, and drums crash into place – and suddenly everything clicks in the best possible way.

The vocal melody is understated yet incredibly catchy, avoiding that overly eager, try-hard feel. It draws you in naturally, almost effortlessly. About a minute in, the song reaches a true high point: a soaring chorus that surges into heavier, shoegaze-leaning territory with impressive force and clarity.

I haven’t heard a track this well-constructed in quite some time and I’m genuinely excited to hear what comes next!
