Sometimes, after just a few opening notes, you can tell you’re about to hear something truly exceptional – and that’s exactly the case with no inner light by offering field. From its very first tones, the song transports you into a beautifully warm, lo-fi world. What surprised me even more, though, are the unusually prominent vocals, drifting through genuinely stunning melodic lines that immediately settle under your skin.

Hand Reaching Through Flames is New Haven’s offering field’s first album in seven years, and it stands as their most intimate work to date. I’d wholeheartedly recommend experiencing the entire release. But back to no inner light: at just two and a half minutes, the track has enormous repeat value. It’s been a long time since a melody has embedded itself in my mind this deeply and this effortlessly.
