BEST NEW MUSIC: WITH BREVITY, MOON-LI 历, DILUTE_CALICO98

WITH BREVITY – BABY BLUE EYES

With Brevity are a rock band from Toledo, Ohio. I don’t know much else about them, but their song Baby Blue Eyes, taken from their new album, really grabbed me. It starts out as a lovely piece of dream pop, with soft, melodic instrumentation and a really pleasant vocal. Then, around 1:15, a big drop hits and the song suddenly picks up a lot of energy, becoming much more frantic. From there, it keeps shifting and weaving between different moods, with the vocals taking on an almost alternative-rock character. We usually feature more raw-sounding music here, but this is just a really enjoyable track!

MOON-LI – UNWORTHY

moon-li 历 are an independent French shoegaze band. Their debut album, figures from another time, released in June 2026, sits somewhere between ambient rock, noise and shoegaze. Blending a DIY approach with a lo-fi aesthetic, the album explores unstable sonic textures in pursuit of a cathartic message of introspection and vulnerability.

We’re picking Unworthy, which opens with a captivating guitar riff before the guitars gradually grow denser and more shoegaze-oriented, eventually sweeping you away in a hazy atmosphere. I also really love the cover they’ve chosen for the album – it fits the music beautifully!

DILUTE_CALICO98 – MYTHRA

Dilute_Calico98 are one of my favourite bands. Their new song Mythra has a lot in common with the more playful side of Alex G. I love the video-game-inspired cover, and there’s a lot of variety and fun in the music itself. What I enjoy most, though, is their sense of melody: everything feels so effortlessly catchy, thoughtfully put together and simply cool – much like Dilute_Calico98’s music as a whole. And that outro is especially fun!
