BIG COVE – SUNEYES

Big Cove are a multidisciplinary duo from Western North Carolina, composed of Tiffany and Josh Rhinehart. By day, they are metalsmiths creating collections of fine jewelry, and at night, they write soundtracks for misty trails and long, dark country roads.

Suneyes immediately caught my attention, especially because of its vocal production, which is absolutely fantastic. It has such a beautiful dreamy, warm quality, set against thick, punchy guitars that rumble underneath. The whole track is incredibly well put together, but what I particularly love is the shift towards the end, when the song suddenly moves into completely different territory. Absolutely beautiful – highly recommended!

JACK LANDESS – IN BLOOM

Jack Landess is an alternative artist and producer combining indie rock with the warmth of surf pop and ambient textures. Originally from Springfield, Ohio, and now based in Nashville, Tennessee, Jack creates music that feels both personal and expansive, grounded in storytelling, layered guitar work and carefully crafted soundscapes. Since releasing his debut EP Mocean in 2022, he has accumulated more than four million streams across platforms, building a steadily growing audience around his approach to songwriting. He is currently working on his new full-length album, Golden Sun, which explores themes of love for his partner, connection to God and the natural world.

I’m not surprised at all that Landess has found this level of success. His take on bedroom pop feels incredibly polished, from the guitar tones and beats to the vocals. It is fun, soulful, emotional and full of great ideas, while never losing that intimate quality that makes bedroom pop so appealing. Well deserved, and I hope the success continues!

RECOVERY DAY – DREAM SEQUENCE

There has been quite a lot of German music appearing here lately. While it is admittedly a little terrifying to see AfD achieve such a strong result in Saxony-Anhalt, at least things seem to be looking pretty good for music in Germany, haha!

Dream Sequence by Recovery Day is a blend of slowcore, slacker rock and indie folk built around wonderfully organic production. It has such a beautiful atmosphere – the kind that feels like the blanket on the album cover, wrapping you up and making you feel completely comfortable inside it. The emotional, occasionally slightly uncertain vocals add plenty of character. Then, halfway through, the song suddenly takes off and develops this fantastic energy, reminding me of early Built to Spill. A beautiful song.
